Two Weeks Left

I superimposed a silhouette of Benin onto a map of Texas to get an idea of its size. Also, Google Earth rules way more than I thought it did.

I'm moving back to my parents' house in a week and flying to Philly a week after that. I'd be excited if that didn't seem like forever. I'll have a lot to do once I get to Dallas though, so at least I won't be bored.

Benin has been participating in the Olymics since 1980 and they have yet to win a single metal. There--that's yet another (and, in my opinion, the best) reason why you shouldn't go.

Oh well...I guess nothing can change your mind at this point. Have fun. Work hard. Try not to scare the children into hating Americans. Take some pictures. Give me a call with that phone card if you find a phone in the village.

Not being able to win medals is one reason why they need volunteers to help them out.

Also, the Olympics are biased towards Western games. There are no whip fights, which Benin, having a cultural holiday in which people fight each other with whips, would easily dominate.
